The islands of Swedish Lapland are perhaps one of Sweden’s least well known coastal areas, but they are definitely one of the most exciting. The definition of an island is a landmass that is surrounded by water and is larger than 20 m². According to that definition, the islands of Swedish Lapland has 4,001 islands.
